Ms. Blake Urbach is the Principal Consultant of Preferred Program Evaluations, an independent consulting firm offering specialized experience in the evaluation of grant-funded projects. She collaborates with institutions of higher education, K-12 schools, and non-profits on the development and execution of program evaluations for the purpose of informing educational and social policy. Ms. Urbach has 18 years of experience in the evaluation of initiatives designed to increase STEM scholarship and persistence, as well as health and behavioral intervention projects that employ a holistic approach to personal and community development. She has evaluated projects funded by the National Science Foundation, Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, U.S. Department of Agriculture, U.S. Department of Education, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, and U.S. Department of Labor, in addition to state agencies and private foundations.
Ms. Urbach provides evaluation coaching to non-profits; has authored multiple peer-reviewed publications, and served as an inaugural member of the Institutional Review Board at Valencia College. Using participatory evaluation practices and the latest techniques in data visualization, she strives to build the capacity of her firm’s partners, unearth intended and collateral impacts, and make a case for sustaining a project once the current funding stream has been exhausted. Ms. Urbach holds a B.S. and M.S. from the University of Central Florida, and is pursuing a Doctorate in Public Administration from Valdosta State University.
