Dr. Bob Spear
Director, Community College Cyber Summit (3CS) & Senior Advisor

Dr. Spear has worked in the computer field since 1968. His career spanned 7 years as an MIS specialist at the Navy Department, 6 years as vice president for McLaughlin Research Corp. and for Dynamic Data Processing, 27 year as a professor of IT at Prince George’s Community College, and, since retiring from full-time teaching in 2008, 7 years at National CyberWatch Center. Dr. Spear’s strengths are in computer security management, information systems education, distance learning and instructional technology, systems engineering, database systems, systems analysis and design, and computer programming. His publications include computer programming textbooks, numerous textbook reviews and technical reports, and journal articles in education and distance learning. He holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Notre Dame, master’s from Georgetown University, and doctorate from George Mason University, as well as a Graduate Certificate in Computer Security Management from Capitol Technical University.
