Professor Burt was a full time Professor (now retired) at Prince George’s Community College (PGCC) for over 20 years teaching a variety of courses in the areas of Cybersecurity, Web Development, Programming, Networking, Software Applications, and Systems Analysis. In addition to his teaching assignments, Professor Burt was the Department Coordinator for the school’s Cybersecurity Program and a member of the leadership team for the National Science Foundation (NSF) National CyberWatch Center grant. Professor Burt’s credentials include a MBA and MS in Information Assurance and industry certifications (CISSP). Professor Burt is now an Adjunct Faculty member for UMGC and Wilmington University. Professor Burt was a contractor with corporations that supported the Department of Defense at Ft. Meade, MD for over 20 years performing systems analysis, web design and development, and project management. Professor Burt has supported National Cybersecurity Training and Education (NCyTE) and Northern Virginia Community College grants that provide Centers of Academic Excellence (CAE) mentoring, pre-submission reviews, and final reviews for the past several years. Professor Burt retired from the Naval Reserves as a Command Master Chief in 2000 with over 28 years of total military service.
