2014 Community College Cyber Summit (3CS) Report

The first annual Community College Cyber Summit took place at the Center for Systems Security and Information Assurance in July 2014. The conference was produced by five NSF-funded Advanced Technological Education centers and is “the first and only national conference to focus exclusively on the role of community colleges in cybersecurity education.” The three-day conference featured five plenary sessions, 12 workshops, and 27 concurrent sessions aimed at allowing community college educators and administrators to “share what we have learned, to advance our own knowledge in this field, to build relationships within the academic community and beyond, and to expand the playing field to additional colleges.”åÊParticular attention was paid to building partnerships with other stakeholder institutions, including K-12 schools, government, and industry. In addition to the report, readers may view a flyer for the 2015 Community College Cyber Summit or access supplemental material from the 2014 conference, including the summit program with descriptions of all the workshops and sessions, and materials from many of these presentations. Within the .zip file, viewers should begin with the ‘Summit Printed Program’ pdf to best orient themselves and find what additional materials might interest them most.
