This PowerPoint presentation, from Dr. Fred Klappenberger of the National CyberWatch Center, was given at the first annual Community College Cyber Summit, held from July 21st to 22nd, 2014. The presentation reviews National Security Agency and Department of Homeland Security requirements for cybersecurity certification before outlining how 75 Knowledge Units will replace existing educational standards and outlining a three-phase mapping process of course materials to KUs. Areas covered include “mandatory vs. optional KUs, overview of KUs, identification of necessary resources to begin mapping, mechanics of the mapping process, and the steps involved in entering the course materials into the NSA/DHS database and mapping them to KUs.” Further information about this presentation and others given at the conference can be found in the ‘2014 Community College Cyber Summit (3CS) Report’.
