Sponsor One of the Biggest Cybersecurity Events in the Mid-Atlantic Region

November 28, 2018

Recruit from a pool of talented aspiring cybersecurity professionals before someone else does by becoming a sponsor at the 14th annual Mid-Atlantic Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition (MACCDC), March 28-30, 2019, at Johns Hopkins University in Laurel, Maryland.

Sponsors are needed to help defray institution costs to help increase participation, which will further increase the number of students entering the workforce. Not only do sponsors invest in this competition and help support the development and skills of the next generation of cybersecurity professionals, but they also have the opportunity to recruit the best and brightest in the field.

Not only can sponsors participate on the Red or White teams, but also can interact with students and faculty, earn recognition on social media and news releases, and examine potential employees in action. Sponsors have access to resumes of these talented players as well.

Top qualifying cybersecurity teams from the Mid-Atlantic region’s two- and four-year colleges and universities will be competing. They’ll be tasked with maintaining an existing network infrastructure and engaging in business injects and real-world IT activities while being attacked by Red Team “hackers.” This year’s Mid-Atlantic CCDC Champion will be defending the MACCDC’s role as the National Champion for the previous two years.

Supporters have included: National Science Foundation, Sony Corporation of America, Central Intelligence Agency, Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Lab, Raytheon, National Security Agency, Cobalt Strike, Palo Alto, Air Force Civilian Service, Northrop Grumman, Bogdan Computer Services Inc. and Bright Path Technology.

“The Mid-Atlantic CCDC provides a unique experience for students to take the knowledge and skills they’ve learned in the classroom and apply it in a live environment,” states Lewis Lightner, director of MACCDC. “For most students this opportunity is a revelation of the challenges they can expect when they enter the workforce. We take great pride in being one of the premier events of this type in the United States.”
