Buffer Overflows: Secure Coding Capability Assessment: Development of the Buffer Overflow Concept Inventory

In this Virtual Brown Bag Lunch presentation, Dr. Robin Gandhi uses the taxonomy of mastery learning, most recently published in the National CyberWatch Cybersecurity Skills Journal: Practice and Research article, to discuss the design of a buffer overflow concept inventory. A concept inventory (CI) is nothing but a standardized formative assessment instrument that evaluates how well a student’s conceptual framework or mental model matches the accepted conceptual framework in a domain.
