Codeacademy, founded in 2011, is an online interactive platform that offers free coding classes in seven different programming languages, including Javascript, jQuery, Python, Ruby, PHP, HTML, and CSS. As an organization, Codeacademy is “committed to building the best learning experience inside and out, making [it] the best place for our team to learn, teach, and create the online learning experience of the future.” Individuals who join can create their own profile, and earn feedback and badges as they participate. Also available to participants is a forum where everyone from beginners to advanced coders can come together and provide feedback to one another, making learning to code an interactive, rewarding process.
